Job purpose: The Production Planner will be responsible for the creation of production schedule for all production departments. The position will coordinate with the supply chain and order management to align the optimum production plan to meet the customer order requirements and the Land customer service levels.




Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Align overall production plan in order to support the customer order requirements
  • Align with the supply chain to monitor the flow of materials as required to support the production plan

  • Work with Purchasing to review critical component stock availability

  • Align with the production leadership to schedule the production plan
  • Communicate with order management to effectively manage customer orders and production process

  • Review ERP safety stock levels across finished goods and sub-assemblies in order to reduce production lead times and increase customer service levels

  • Monitor production progress to meet the production plan and expedite through production leadership where necessary

  • Accountable for performance metrics including on time delivery to customer

  • Strong interface with all business areas, ensuring strong/effective communication is achieved

  • Promote and support Right first time Quality culture

  • Ensure that all relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures are observed.

  • Perform other duties and tasks as required by the business



Key Competencies:


  • Ability to create and follow production schedules

  • Ability to use computer based MRP/ERP systems (SAP), MS Office/Excel.

  • Detail orientated, possess a high level of accuracy and organization

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritise in a dynamic environment

Experience, Professional Qualifications and Personal Requirements:


  • Demonstrable experience in a Production planning/supply chain environment

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • IT Literate – SAP/MRP

  • A level/BTEC level preferred

  • A high level of commitment, initiative, and self-motivation are essential in this role

  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively across internal departments and external suppliers
